Ecclesiastes 3 V3-4 NIV

''a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance,''

I Love this poem because it helps me understand why God allows me to go through the storm. Simply because there's a time for everything. Life is going to eventually change, nothing will stay the same. The situation you are in right now will change. What goes up must come down.

I went through a storm and I lost everything. My house, my marriage, my business it all felt a part. This time I didn't ask God why me but I did ask him why he allowed me to go through the storm and why he took away everything that he had blessed me with. From living in our 4 bedroom house to being back a single mother living in a one-bedroom apartment with 3 kids outside of the country. God how did I get there, I never thought I would have gone from being married to separated.

The storm brings us closer to God

The storm was to kill the old me, my old life, and now my old friends. It took me about six months for me to realize the healing process that was taking place. I was in such of bad place mentally that I saw no hope. But God was working through it all, he had to bring me to a place of repentance.

God is saying to us: " Daughter/son, I allow you to go through the storm because you were turning your back on me, your family became your idol, your business became your idol, your lifestyle became your idol. You stopped believing in me, you became too busy for me. I've lost you and had to bring you back to me. The storm allows you to get closer to me, God."

God had to tear me down to rebuild my character, my foundation, by removing the old to replace it with the New. The storm was to take me out of my comfort zone and push me into my new season. In this new season, it's important to be obedient to the word of God. Whatever Vision God has a place in your heart to do for his kingdom just do it. You are not perfect but if you can hear God's voice that alone is enough to carry out his purpose. God will replace everything that you lose with more, he still has a plan and he is still in control. His plan is bigger than we can imagine. In the end, it will all make sense because God is bigger than the storms we face.

I have gone through the storm now what?

Proverb 3.5-6 NIV

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him,

and he will make your paths straight.
